Core Properties

Physical Characteristics: Most Quats are white or off-white crystalline powders, flocs or liquid formulations; highly soluble in polar solvents such as water and ethanol, insoluble in non-polar organic solvents (e.g., petroleum ether, benzene).
Chemical Stability: Excellent stability under normal temperature and neutral/alkaline conditions; slight hydrolysis may occur in strong acid environments, and decomposition is negligible within the recommended storage and application temperature range.
Key Functional Traits: Typical cationic surfactants with positive charge on the molecular chain, which can be firmly adsorbed on the surface of negatively charged substrates (e.g., fiber, bacterial cell wall, metal oxide) to form a stable adsorption layer, realizing surface modification, sterilization and antistatic effects.
Low Toxicity & Environmental Compatibility: Most industrial and domestic Quats have low acute toxicity, no irritation or mild irritation to the skin (formulation-adjustable); biodegradable types account for the mainstream of the market, meeting the environmental protection requirements of various countries and regions.

Industrial Application Fields

1. Water Treatment Industry
As flocculant, bactericidal algicide and scale inhibitor; suitable for urban sewage treatment, industrial wastewater purification (printing and dyeing, papermaking, chemical industry) and circulating cooling water treatment, effectively reducing turbidity and inhibiting microbial reproduction to prevent pipeline scaling and corrosion.
2. Papermaking & Textile Dyeing
Papermaking: As cationic modifier and wet strength agent, improve paper strength, water resistance and dye absorption rate; used as sizing agent to optimize paper surface performance.
Textile: As softener and antistatic agent for natural and synthetic fibers (cotton, polyester, wool); as dye fixing agent, improve the color fastness of dyed fabrics and prevent fading.
3. Sanitation & Daily Chemicals
Disinfection: Raw material of disinfectant, used for surface disinfection of hospitals, schools, food factories and public places, as well as the preparation of wet wipes, hand sanitizer and mouthwash (food-grade Quats).
Daily chemicals: Conditioning agent in shampoo, hair conditioner and body wash; softener in laundry detergent, improving the hand feel of clothes.
