Reconocido como sustancia \u00abgeneralmente reconocida como segura\u00bb (GRAS) por la FDA de EE. UU., se utiliza ampliamente en aplicaciones alimentarias, de bebidas, farmac\u00e9uticas e industriales en las que es fundamental un bajo contenido en humedad.<\/p>\n<h3>Aplicaciones principales<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sector de la alimentaci\u00f3n y las bebidas:<\/strong> Se utiliza principalmente como regulador de la acidez (E330), potenciador del sabor y conservante en productos que requieren un bajo contenido en humedad, como bebidas en polvo, mezclas alimenticias instant\u00e1neas, frutos secos y productos de confiter\u00eda (por ejemplo, caramelos duros y chicles). Evita que los productos se apelmacen y prolonga su vida \u00fatil al absorber la humedad residual.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Industria farmac\u00e9utica:<\/strong> Se utiliza como regulador del pH y excipiente en formas farmac\u00e9uticas s\u00f3lidas (comprimidos, c\u00e1psulas) y en formulaciones de polvo seco. Mejora la estabilidad de los principios activos farmac\u00e9uticos (API) y act\u00faa como agente quelante para fijar los iones met\u00e1licos que pueden degradar los medicamentos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cosm\u00e9ticos y cuidado personal:<\/strong> Se a\u00f1ade a productos para el cuidado de la piel en polvo, polvos para el cuidado del cabello y champ\u00fa seco para controlar el pH, mejorar la textura y evitar que se formen grumos.
